Tell us a bit more about yourself and your journey.

I didn’t want to start studying after graduating from high school. Less theory, more practice was my motto. That’s why I enquired about an apprenticeship. The path to ACSYS was a mixture of chance, openness to chance opportunities and the personal passion of an ACSYS employee. I got to know ACSYS at a trade fair. Our current application manager took a lot of time for me back then and explained a lot about laser technology to me. My highlight was when he spontaneously marked my watch with my name on the exhibition machine. I was fascinated by this employee’s passion for technology and the attention I received as a student. What followed was an invitation to an interview for an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. A few days later, I had the signed training contract in my pocket. Since then, I have been committed to ACSYS and its customers with the same passion that I once had.

What is special about ACSYS for you?

Clearly, the people! We have an absolutely fantastic team of very different specialists who are constantly finding new solutions and concepts for our customers’ applications. In conversations, I always notice how connected most employees are to our company and how passionate they are about their work. That always inspires me and it’s admittedly a lot of fun to work with such a team.

How do you deal with challenges?

If I can recognize the potential for added value for our customers and can also develop this further as a company with our employees, I always accept challenges.

How have you already developed during your training?

In my first year of my apprenticeship, I had to stand in for a sales colleague at a trade fair in Austria at short notice. I received one day of application instruction on a labeling system and was allowed to travel to the trade fair in Austria the following week alone with a mobile trade fair stand, a tabletop unit and a Sprinter. Such experiences still shape me today. I attribute my pronounced hands-on mentality to such experiences. I hadn’t quite finished my training when the owner gave me the opportunity to take over responsibility for order processing. This function did not previously exist as an independent area within the company. I thought it was great how early in my career I was given such a high level of trust at ACSYS.

What advice do you have for people looking for an apprenticeship?

You should always do something that you enjoy and are passionate about. You don’t always know exactly what it is. Everyone has to experience it for themselves. During your training with us, you definitely have the chance to experience many different areas of the company and get to know the tasks. Very important: life is not just about sprints. So you should also have stamina from time to time. This also applies to success, which is not always immediate. But from my own experience, I can say that commitment always pays off in the end.

What is your highlight of a typical working day?

I think it’s really cool when our employees are happy about a goal achieved, a solution found, a new idea or satisfied customer feedback. In these moments, I realize that we have achieved something together again today, and that makes me proud.
