Max and versatility

If you had to describe Max Ernstberger in just one word, it would be “versatile”. He develops and models laser processes for applications, gives specialist lectures and forms an important interface between technology, sales, marketing and management. He started his career at ACSYS in Mittweida and moved to Kornwestheim in Swabia a few years ago, where he can usually be found in the technical center. In this interview, he tells us about his passion for laser technology and inspiring walks.

Why did you choose ACSYS as your employer?

At ACSYS, I have the opportunity to apply my theoretical and practical knowledge from my studies. I also like the agile way of working with the responsible teams, the developers and the management. This makes it possible to make rapid progress on projects without being thwarted in your ambitions by internal company bureaucracy. At ACSYS, I can make a difference and the result of my work helps to enable new applications for ACSYS laser processing machines.

What do you like most about your job?

I particularly like the versatility, which makes my job very varied. I also have the opportunity to combine theory and practice in my job. My tasks range from planning and conceptual design to technical customer consulting and the actual development of new laser processes and laser applications for our customers. The exchange with experienced colleagues in particular enables me to acquire new knowledge every day. I particularly like the great trust placed in me by the company. At ACSYS, I can plan my own daily routine and take responsibility for my decisions.

How do you deal with challenges?

I try to approach challenges in a very structured way. First I make a plan of what the goal of the challenge is, then I try to discuss it with the relevant experts in order to work efficiently for ACSYS. Then I tackle the challenge and work out a solution.

Who has given you particular support along the way?

The whole team has contributed to this, as everyone at ACSYS is open to sharing knowledge. You just have to put yourself out there and talk to people. I think that’s one of my strengths.

What is your highlight of a typical working day?

The lunchtime walk across the nearby fields with colleagues, which allows for a relaxed exchange on private, professional and technical topics.

What do you give your all for at work?

I would like to use my skills to help ACSYS become even better. New laser applications and machine functions strengthen the ACSYS brand and help the company to become more competitive. I see it as my task to drive this forward.
