New BARRACUDA^® unveiled
Flexibility meets surface accuracy

With the market launch of the new BARRACUDA^®, ACSYS presents a new generation of its successful laser processing system, which impresses with high surface accuracy, efficient use of the work area and a great deal of flexibility – from the wide range of options and individual customization options to loading.

The new BARRACUDA^® offers significant advantages, particularly for users in the mobility, mechanical engineering and toolmaking sectors: heavy and complex components can be processed precisely and efficiently with laser technology using the new generation of systems – and with a significantly reduced footprint compared to the previous model. The new laser processing system combines minimal tolerances with short throughput times and individual expandability.

More interior space, less gross floor space

The new BARRACUDA^® builds on the proven strengths of the previous model and brings numerous improvements. One striking feature is the new sliding side door, which also opens the machine ceiling, making it easy to load with a forklift or crane. At the front, the machine is also equipped with a swing door that can be opened as required. Another advantage of the door concept is the variability of the footprint: the new BARRACUDA can be rotated by 90° and thus adapts even more flexibly to the spatial conditions. The interior offers even more variability, with a whopping 200 mm more axle travel, although both the width and height have only increased by around 100 mm.

The extensive range of options is typical of ACSYS. On the one hand, this enables flexible adaptation to specific customer requirements and, thanks to the wide range of possible combinations, offers plenty of scope for individual customization. Whether powerful fiber lasers, application-specific laser heads, smart part recognition or automation – the new BARRACUDA^® offers a wide range of processing options for precise engraving, marking and structuring of workpieces. The intelligent design of the machine body, including the innovative door solution, not only makes loading easier and reduces the footprint, but also significantly improves ease of use.

High surface accuracy

Thanks to the use of modern materials and production techniques, the new BARRACUDA^® achieves particularly high surface accuracy when processing many loose individual parts or individual large workpieces at the same time. This is ensured by a granite body with a precisely ground cast steel axis and a high-strength Z-axis made of polymer concrete. However, the new BARRACUDA^® only unfolds its full potential in combination with the in-house programmed software and ACSYS’ many years of material, system and laser expertise. This unique combination of hardware, software, process expertise and service is a key reason why market-leading companies from a wide range of industries have been relying on innovative laser system solutions from ACSYS for over 20 years.
